This National Intern Day we caught up with our newest intern, Kristina Demou, to find out more about why she joined Momentum and why she loves PR.

What made you want to intern at Momentum?
I was attracted to the type of clients that Momentum serves because of my background working in-house for various non-profits. I also just generally like the concept of working for clients that help put more “good” into the world – it motivates me to work harder to spread that mission through PR! I really responded to the people I met at Momentum, too, and their similar passion to do good for others.

What is your favorite part of public relations?
I enjoy working with social media the most, it’s something that is always changing and evolving, and it offers so many ways to reach people. I love how social media democratizes the digital space and gives everyone a voice. I’m always looking into different ways social can be used for business or personal use, and I even researched social media’s evolving role in politics during undergrad.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
During my spare time, I like going to the gym, playing my guitar, taking photos, and going to concerts. I like staying active, and I really enjoy most kinds of music whether I’m listening, playing, or experiencing it live at a show.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I think I would like to go into higher education communications, helping generate visual content and run social for a college. As a first generation college student, I really enjoyed my college experience and took advantage of it as much as I could, and I’d love to be a part of telling the story of all that higher education has to offer to the next generation of college students.
